Cosmetic Dental Studio — About the Dental Practice
If you ask people what they would change about their teeth and mouth if
they had a magic wand, they would probably answer 'I would like nice
straight, white teeth'.

The Practice at 15 West Parade first opened its doors in December 1999
in order to wave that magic wand and give you, the patient, private dentistry
in comfortable surroundings with the most up to date equipment.

Cosmetic dentistry is becoming increasingly popular and modern equipment
means that a problem that previously could not be rectified can now be
effectively solved.

Is there something that stops you giving a full smile?
Speak to us about it; we can probably help.

Why is your mouth so important?

Because it is one of the main features of your expression and therefore
affects the way you communicate
If you have a nice smile you can be more self confident
It is the first feature people look at when you meet
It is important to have teeth and gums which are comfortable and don't
bleed or cause you pain
Mouth problems may cause mouth odours which are socially
unacceptable as well as damaging to your oral health
Being a private practice means that we can keep up with the latest
equipment designed to give you a speedy solution to your dental problems
with the minimum of discomfort.
Our equipment includes:
Cerec Our Cerec machine - a computer-assisted piece of equipment that can
create new inlays (an alternative to large fillings), crowns and veneers in one visit.
In other words - no impressions, no temporary crowns, and material which
closely matches natural teeth. All this, and a two-year guarantee!
We consider this to be a major advance in dentistry.
Bruce is an internationally accredited trainer of Cerec techniques and is a member of ACDNA (Academy of Computerised Dentistry of North America).
Healozone Healozone This is a revolutionary piece of equipment and at present we are the only dental practice in Lincoln to offer this service. The machine uses ozone gas to heal tooth decay and provides many advantages over the traditional method of drilling and filling. It is pain free and does not involve any drilling or injections. It actually heals the tooth instead of cutting bits out of it. It only takes a few seconds to use and is totally safe.
Diagnodent A Diagnodent which is a diagnostic sensor in the form of a low powered
laser light which can detect decay at its earliest stage, making air abrasion
a viable option for removing decay.
Cameras Intra-oral so that you can see around your mouth, and understand
why a suggested course of treatment is advisable.
Digital x-ray Digital x-ray machines which develop your x-rays immediately - no
phoning back a couple of days later for the results. We can therefore
diagnose and treat a problem during one appointment.
Air abrasion Air abrasion allows the dentist to remove decay whilst leaving the maximum amount of healthy tooth intact. This procedure can frequently be performed without the need for an injection of local anaesthetic - no more droopy lips!
Relative analgesia Relative analgesia is a mixture of gas and air that reduces anxiety and
pain awareness. However, you are fully aware of your surroundings and
able to resume normal activities within a few minutes.
Patient information There is also a Patient information visual display programme on DVD available in the
waiting room which gives you a brief glimpse of the way your mouth and
smile can be enhanced. A more detailed explanation is on film in the
surgeries which is used in conjunction with your professional's advice.
